Skyline was founded in 2005 foundation as a spin-off from the Departments of Hematology and Bioinformatics at the Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam. The company secured series A and B investments in 2007 and 2009, respectively. In addition, Skyline received substantial research and development grants between 2007 and 2011, as well as funding from a contract research program with Johnson and Johnson that started in 2005.
